Coronavirus: Britons returning from Northern Italy should self-isolate, says Matt Hancock

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said that anyone returning to the UK from Northern Italy should self-isolate to avoid spreading the coronavirus.

This comes as over 200 people have tested positive for the virus and several have died in Lombardy and the surrounding regions.

The health secretary admitted that he is worried about the latest outbreak but says the UK is taking a “belt and braces” approach to protecting the public and stopping the spread of the virus. He said he would not rule out lockdown measures being put in place in areas across the UK if cases of the virus rise.
